A fine cloisonne vase, Meiji period circa1890 an exceptional quality vase displaying fine wirework design of butterflies on a dark blue/black enamel ground, exotic long-tailed butterflies created using different thicknesses of silver wire and polychrome enamels in extraordinarily fine detail, diamond lappets to the neck, scrolling grasses and stylized flowers.
