A monumental Doulton Burslem porcelain vase made for the world's Fair Chicago, circa 1893, ovoid with a flared neck, finely painted with Poseidon the reverse an allegorical winged figure, flanked by scroll terminals with Grecians supported by serpents, raised on a turned circular base with scroll feet supporting a further four allegorical, figures, the whole ornately applied with raised foliate decoration, gilt floral swags and highlights, (lacking cover), printed factory mark and Worlds Chicago Fair mark.
