An early 19th century portrait miniature on ivory Possibly by George Engleheart, (British, 1752-1829) The oval portrait depicting a young woman with short curled hair, wearing a red beaded necklace and a white dress, accompanied by an oval piece of card inscribed in ink 'G. Engleheart / Pinxit / 1808' and in a different hand 'for my son / George after / my death' and '(indistinct) H. Denys 25 Nov 1847', housed within a rose gold frame, glazed verso, 8.5 cm high.
