Aboriginal Bean Wood Shield, of deep elliptical form. A rebated handle on the back, carved into the body of the shield. Front and back are decorated with broad parallel longitudinal grooves. A varied reddish-brown patina dominates a large painted (natural pigment) circle, couched by four very faint, latitudinal, thickly painted lines on the shield’s face. Height 71 cm, width 10.5 cm
