Waihaika - Whalebone Short Hand Club, a classic early form club, with large curving blade (small chip to the top). A masterfully carved figure at the bottom of incurve, with a tiki head who's arms are bent and clutching arching legs, leading to a finely defined maniaia head butt with inset paua eyes. Pierced round hole for attachment. Of a soft creamy patina. 19thcentury. Length 36 cm, width 13 cm
