Fine Songye Mask, of hollowed abstract form, pierced around rim for attachment; angular facial plane with protruding rectangular mouth beneath a flared angular nose, extending to a medial ridge, flanked by pierced, ovoid eyes. All over incised with linear pattern; dry, old patina of kaolin, blackened eyes, nose and mouth. Height 39 cm, width 26.5 cm
