Clarrie Grimmett: Photograph of the Presentation to Grimmett after his Test Debut in Sydney, with caption on mount 'President of S.A.C.A. (Mr.H.Fisher) making the presentation to C.V.Grimmett on the Adelaide Oval in recognition of his Fifth Test match performances', framed & glazed, overall 47 x 40 cm. [Clarrie Grimmett played 37 Tests 1924-36. In the 5th Test of the 1924-25 Ashes series, Grimmett on his debut took 5/45 & 6/37, stunning the English and delighting the crowd. The Adelaide newspaper 'The News' opened a subsription list to make him a presentation during the approaching England v South Australia match. The President of the Saca was able to present Grimmett with a cheque for £212/17/6 as depicted in this photograph. After the presentation Grimmett walked onto the Oval and almost immediately clean bowled Percy Chapman].
