A pair of yokeback armchairs (guanmao yi), Qing Dynasty, 19th century, the crestrail of each with arched headrest and scroll terminals repeated on the armrails, the rectangular seat supported on square section legs with arched apron, plain stretchers and footrest, the undulating back splat carved in pierced relief with a figure riding on a Qilin, the reverse with a painted inscription dated to Xianfeng 11th year, 6th month, 15th day, (2), 124 cm high
