Albert Cotter's 1909 Photograph Album with photographs by Frank Laver 1909 Australian Tour to England: Photograph Album, endorsed at front 'To Tibby Cotter, A Souvenir of a very successful and pleasant trip together as members of the Thirteenth Australian Cricket Team, 1909, From Frank Laver', with 114 photographs, each 17 x 12 cm, most with captions underneath. Subjects include the trip over on Ss Orontes, ports of call, cricketers sightseeing (many wearing their Australian strawboater hats), 1st Test at Birmingham (2), 2nd Test at Lords (2), 3rd Test at Leeds (2), 5th Test at the Oval (5), the team at Windsor Castle, Australian swimmer Beatrice Kerr, portraits of 1909 Australian cricketers (18), the voyage home including the cricket pavilion at Singapore, boar-hunting at Ipoh, sightseeing in Java. Six photographs damaged, though a unique insight into touring a century ago. Provenance: Cotter family, by descent
