A magnificent mid 18th century Dutch burr walnut long case clock with age and phases of the moon, calendar and alarm, by Jan Marc Juntes, Amsterdam the elaborately shaped hood with blind fretwork surmounted by a gilt wood figure of Atlas and two angels with gilt mounted composite pilasters over a long shaped trunk door and a serpentine bombe shaped base with marquetry inlaid decoration, raised on claw and ball feet, the 13 inch arched brass dial with engraved border enclosing an arched chapter ring, matted centre with subsidiary seconds, date aperture and sectors for day and astronomical sign, the movement with knopped pillars, anchor escapement striking on two bells, the alarm train mounted to the side
