1996 Atlanta, XXVI Summer Olympics: Jonathan Edward's world record Tracksuit: English Tracksuit worn by Jonathan Edwards on the evening he set the triple Jump world record (still current) at Helsinki in 1995. Edwards capped an unbeaten year with a historic gold medal performance at the world Championships in which he broke the world record twice in the same meet. On his first jump, he became the first man to legally pass the 18-metre barrier (18.16 m/59 feet 7 inches). That record lasted for about 20 minutes. His second jump of 18.29 m made him the first to jump 60 feet. Track suit with embroidered 'England/ (rose) / Athletics Team' logo on left breast, signed above (faded) by Jonathan Edwards. Together with two superb action photographs of the record jump (one mounted overall 59 x 47 cm; other 29 x 21 cm). Ex Ross Edwards collection
