A Japanese black-lacquer armour 19th century, the suit laced in blue with white and orange trim, with an akoda nari kabuto constructed of eight plates lacquered black and applied with copper fukurin to the ridges, the recessed Crown mounted with a four-stage chrysanthemum tehen kanamono and shinodare with chrysanthemum bosses, a four-lame shikoro ending in large fukig'shiapplied with stenciled does skin and gilt-metal Katakura family crests, the mabisashi also applied with stenciled doe skin, a gilt-metal kuwagata dai pierced with chrysanthemum scroll and gilt-metal kuwagata and a copper-disc Katakura family crest m'date, the edges of all lames applied with chrysanthemum scroll hardware; menpo with a bristle moustache and a four-lame yodarekake; the cuirass a yokohagi okegawa do decorated on the front with a large Katakura family crest in gold lacquer the munaita and wakiita applied with stenciled doe skin above pierce-carved chrysanthemum-scroll hardware, the cuirass fitted with seven sections of five-lame kusazuri; osode, shino gote and kawara haidate; tsubo suneate; one armour box and one armour stand
