An early 19th century French gilt and patinated bronze figural mantel clock depicting the parting of two lovers, Thonissen, Paris, the 4.75 inch signed enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic quarter hour markers, with concentric date, flanked by a pair of birds holding a garland between their beaks set between a pair of well cast pilasters to a bench with monopodia feet, further set with a couple holding hands, but she turning away from him, on a plinth base with applied mount, the circular movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell.
