A rare matched pair of 18th century French celestial and terrestrial table globes by Desnos, the 31 cm globes papered with twelve gores, the terrestrial titled 'Se Monte Et Vend Chez Desnos. Ingenieur Pour Tout Les Instruments de Mathematique, Rue S. Jacques Pres La Fontaine S. Severin a l'Enseigne du globe a Paris 1758, Avec Priv du Roy', the celestial globe inscribed, dedicated and dated, 1770, the ebonised stands with baluster columns, circular plinths and turned feet.
