A large and impressive late 18th century French gilt and patinated bronze mantel clock, Maniere a Paris, the signed 6.75 inch enamel Roman dial with Arabic quarter hour marks and a minute track, with copperplate signature to the centre and good pierced hands, (old repairs evident to the enamel around the winding squares) all set within an architectural pediment supported by a pair of female figures, one clothed, the other semi-clad, on a stepped base with variegated rouge marble plinth with applied frieze, the twin barrel movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike on a bell, with gridiron-type pendulum terminating in a well cast head.
