A mid 19th century French gilt and patinated bronze mantel clock depicting Hercules Gilertin au Havre the mythological figure holding a club and resting against a realistically cast tree stump containing the three inch Roman dial with moon hands and engine turned centre, the circular movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell (pendulum lacking). Height 41 cm
