A late 19th century New Zealand totara and specimen wood parquetry box made by William Norrie, the top and front inlaid with various native timbers including rewa rewa, maire, pukatea, rata and kauri, enclosing a void interior on bun feet, together with three original cabinet makers cards for W Norrie of Shortland Street, two listing on the reverse in pencil, all the timbers used with a diagram of the veneers, the other a list in pencil of timbers used.
