A George II silver swing-handled bread/fruit basket, maker's mark obliterated, London 1751, oval form with scroll and criss-cross pierced body, engraved with a contemporary coat of arms, applied wheatsheaf, rocaille and flowerhead rim, raised on four scroll feet, floral swing handle with cast putti terminals. Length 40 cm, weight 71oz, weight 2240gms.
