Aboriginal Bean Wood Shield, of deep elliptical form, with rebated handle on the back carved into body of shield. Front and back are decorated with broad parallel longitudinal grooves. A varied reddish-brown patina dominates a large painted (natural pigment) circle couched by four very faint latitudinal thickly painted lines on the shield's face.Provenance: Zanesville Museum of Art, USA.
