Magnificent Kauri Gum Bust, of a Maori woman and child. The woman offers a fine rendition of orthodox moko and wears a prestigious Korowai clock with double pare thrums. Both child and mother offer open content expressions. Provenance: Commissioned by Max Paykel, c.1900. Note: The male partner to this wonderful commission now resides in the Kauri Museum.
