Description:
Koruru, gable mask, of square form, with a large mouth carved in a figure eight design with a protruding tongue, inlaid shell eyes (one missing). Overhanging brow, highly decorated on the surface with varied motif h'h' and fine notching. Exceptionally fine dark encrusted patina. Early 19th century, length 164.2 cm width 15.6 cm.
