Large river worn toki, found in the river beds of Nelson, this impressive toki offers an unorthodox kinked neck reminiscent of the early Eastern Polynesian and Hawaiian hafted adze. Appears to have been hammer pecked. Archaic period 14th ' 16th century, black argillite. Length 32 cm. Width 5.7 cm.
