Description:
An important Haus Tamburan finial, finial from a large Haus Tamburan with large abstract eagle type bird form at top with carved designs on open wings. The legs rest on a male figure standing on two intertwined crocodiles seated upon a scalloped base with three carved heads. Heavy weathered patina with small traces of pigment remaining, village repair to one eagle wing. It is a virtuoso carving effort made to be viewed at a distance from below. Length 199 cm Width 67.5 cm.
