Fine betel nut mortar, of unusual form, the top portion carved open as a mortar with typical scrollwork carved in high relief; in the centre, a raised circular band with shell insets and raised birds in high relief, their beaks pecking at a raised fish motif beneath; each bird forming the 'Nose' of the face made up of two disks for eyes, and the remaining two birds as the back of the stylised head and 'Ears'.
