Frederick Basse, (1852-1913), Australian sterling silver Twin Handled Trophy Cup, bearing Victorian hallmarks for Sheffield, c1900 modelled with a thistle shaped bowl, the interior with original gilding, flanked by twin angular handles, resting on a knopped waisted pillar and a stepped circular spreading foot, height 29 cm, weight 664gms. Frederick Basse was a prominent Adelaide Jeweller and Retailer, retailed often for Wendt. Well represented in National Public Collections
