An Australian Silver Wine Jug Attributed to William Edwards, Melbourne circa 1870 The ovoid body applied with a finely cast grape vine band, beneath a beaded border and a pouring spout surmounted by a hinged cover and a grape and leaf finial, flanked by a branch handled, inscribed 'To H. Wrixon / As a mark of Esteem from his Friends / on his completing the / Gordon Line of Railway / and leaving the Ballarat District / Novr. 1879,' unmarked, 606 grs. total weight of silver, 33 cm high.
