A Scottish mahogany longcase clock, circa 1805, in the Greek Revival style, by William Mitchell & Son, Glasgow (1798 - 1838), the architectural hood with triangular pediment between a pair of acrotia above a square door with circular glazed panel, between 'X' shaped pilasters, and ebonised corner mouldings, above a long tapering door over a square base with raised moulded panels and raised on a double stepped plinth, the 12 inch silvered dial with Roman numerals and subsiding seconds and calendar dials with a four pillar 8 day anchor escapement striking on a bell, with a wooden pendulum; Note William Mitchell & Son were Royal Clockmakers to George III in Scotland; Provenance: W.
