An early Australian cedar and pine inlaid 'Missionary' chest of drawers, circa 1815, the rectangular top above two short and three long graduated drawers decorated with Grecian key pattern and with original steel locks, raised on turned feet;. Width 10 cm. Depth 54 cm. Height 116 cm; note, the late Kevin Fahy pronounced this chest as one of the Missionary Chests in relation to its likely connection to the Reverend Samuel Marsden (1765-1838) who in 1815 went to New Zealand with a group to convert the Maori to Christianity.
