An Australian cedar games / work table, circa 1835, the square top with a specimen wood chess board above a single drawer with ebony handles and locking pin for the work basket below, raised on a turned column and four acanthus leaf carved scrolled legs, terminating in brass castors;. Width 50 cm. Depth 48 cm. Height 75 cm. Note, the exotic timbers used in the chessboard have been identified as far as possible and a chart is available.
