World War I 'C Section 3rd Ambulance Bearer Photo' possibly the only known photo of John Simpson Kirkpatrick with his entire Sub Division, the photo was taken at Blackboy Hill training camp in the Perth suburb of Greenmount on the eve of the Anzacs departure overseas (probably October 1914) Purchase a number of years ago at a sale of military memorabilia, the prints unique historical qualities were quickly observed by the discerning buyer. This rare print featuring the most famous Anzac of them all - John Simpson Kirkpatrick (known in Australia as 'Simpson, the man and his donkey' (comes with an Australian War Memorial Acquistion number (P04260001) Due to the extremely limited number of Simpson photos available for sale to the public this Australian War Memorial recognised print may be the last of its type to become available for private purchase
