A Victorian silver gilt lidded trophy mug, Stephen Smith & William Nicholson, London, 1864, the domed lid with an applied cast horse, the neck with applied cast lion mask heads suspending swags of foliage, with a beaded foot rim and scroll handle with acanthus leaf capping, inscribed 'Members Cup/1 1/4 mile Welter Weights/Won by Mr William Town's horse/Mnemib/Randwick Spring Meeting/1864; together with a photograph of Mnemon 1864, a letter to Mr Town and a photocopy of a copy of a newspaper cutting; 33.5 cm high, approximately 1286 gms
