An interesting World War I album of Charles Stapp, driver, NZEF. This includes images of Italy and the Pacific. It would appear that Stapp, from the well known South Island family, has first served in Italy before being sent to the Pacific. His photographs are unpublished snapshots and include fascinating images from the Italy campaign, including Sangro, together with sight seeing images such as Rome and Pompeii. His photos include Prisoners of war, transport columns, wrecked tanks, the Maori Btn on Parade and many others. He has included a rare metal Nazi badge in his album and Edelweiss flowers, there are a number of unmounted photos with many notes to verso, these include images of Italy and of the Pacific. Some album photos have come free from their corners and are with the loose images, the Pacific images include American landing craft, planes, camouflaged positions etc. A fascinating collection
