The Francis Liardet military travel trunk. The mahogany trunk with inlaid name plaque 'Capt. FRANs Liardet' to the hinged lid and further brass strapping to the corners etc, brass swing side handles. Height 49 cm length 76 cm depth 50.5 cm Note: Liardet entered the Royal Navy aged 12 in 1809, made Commander In1838 and Post Rank in 1840. He was the New Zealand Land Company agent in New Plymouth, coming out in 1841 on the Whitby. Est. $4000
