An exquisite Chinese export lacquer sewing table. Mid 19th century, the rectangular table with scalloped and shell shaped hinged lid opens to reveal a series of practical compartments each with a removable lid all mounted upon a twin pedestal and stretcher base with claw feet profusely decorated with scenes to interior and exterior surfaces in gilt on a black ground. Height 71 cm. Width 65 cm. Depth 44 cm.
