Three letters to Hal Hooker from Claude Spencer dated May and July 1932 regarding his negotiations for Bradman, Fairfax and (he hoped) Hal Hooker being engaged with the Accrington Cricket Club for three years. A journalist, Spencer had secretly negotiated a deal for Bradman for the Lancashire League, and in these letters (4pp, typed) - 'the only other person in Australia knows of this correspondence to you, and that is Don Bradman and it will be necessary that no one else shall know'. Includes a quote from Fairfax to Spencer on how well he was doing in England. Two letters fine, the last torn (in frustration?), but readable
