A fine bronze sculpture of Buddha, c.1850, seated in dhyanasana with his hands in bhumisparsa and dhyana mudra, above a double lotus platform with beaded rim and short base decorated with figurative motifs in relief, the fine featured visage with downcast eyes flanked by pendulous ears adorned with earrings below a fine foliate Crown, his torso adorned with jewels, a billowing scarf incised with figurative motifs wrapped around his arms, remnant gilding, applied gold leaf to brow, urna, eyes and to the rear, traces of applied red and black lacquer, superb detail and condition, Tibet, 39 x 29 cm note: This lot is sold with an authenticating, thermoluminescence Dating report, test no W4254, combined with an Xrd metal Analysis, University of Wollongong, school of earth and Environmental Sciences
