An attractive 19th century Samson armorial porcelain tankard the tube-lined reserves typically hand painted with stylised flowers in bright enamels, the largest containing a lion and an ox decorated coat of arms in gilt and enamels, and incorporating the motto 'Esse Quam Videri' which translates 'To be, Rather Than Seem to be.' base marks.
