Produced between 1961 and 1977, the Alpine A110 is rear wheel drive, rear engined and designed for speed. Oft said that the designers of this model took their inspiration from the work of Colin Chapman's Lotus designs, the Alpine A110 has a lightweight fibreglass body and tubular steel spaceframe chassis.Approximately 8200 units of the A110 were produced. A very successful rally car in the 1960s and early '70s, it was the winner of the Monte Carlo Rally in 1971 driven by Ove Andersson (in fact A110s finished first, second and third), and was also the first car to win the World Rally Championship in 1973. The A110 was built at the Dieppe Alpine factory in France and also in Brazil, Bulgaria, Mexico and Spain.The Alpine A110 we offer is a Spanish built car from 1972, fitted with the Renault Gordini power plant delivering 95hp Sae at 6,500 rpm and twin Weber carburetors. The current owner brought the car to Australia from Belgium. It has recently had a new clutch and new brakes fitted.
