1926 Armstrong-Siddeley Short 18 Chassis no. 41094Engine no. 20351 Registration no. 20591 H (Nt) Formed in 1919 by the amalgamation of Sir Wg Armstrong-Whitworth and Siddeley-Deasy Motors, Armstrong-Siddeley was one of many car factories located in Coventry U.K.Large luxury cars were produced at first, later smaller cars were introduced, but the high quality for which their cars were noted was maintained. The aeronautical activities of the company added to the prestige of their cars, indeed their advertising used the slogan' the car of aircraft quality'.The vee-radiator of the larger cars made them highly recognisable on the road. This Australian delivered Armstrong-Siddeley is thought to have originally been bodied in Brisbane and has had only three owners since 1926 and made a cameo appearance in the film Thornbirds - The Missing Years.The present owner has owned chassis number 41094 for 11 years during which time various upgrades including fitting of shock absorbers, valve grind, new clutch and magneto restoration have been carried out.
