Awj-51A expires 29/9/2010Widely respected in America and world-wide as a high quality upper middle-class car, Buick's history dates back to 1903. Early exponents of the straight-eight engine, Buick was placed between Oldsmobile & La Salle in the General Motors hierarchy and achieved notable sales success for many years pre World War II. The 8/40 Series was of Chevrolet size and relatively compact. The Buick range at that time had all-round coil suspension and eight cylinder over head valve engines ranging from 4064cc to 5247cc. We are informed that this example was the subject of a 'body off' restoration between 2005 and 2007 including engine, gearbox and differential. The car was changed to 12 volt electrics and fitted with a brake booster and heater and the engine was modified to run unleaded fuel. The car was entered in the famous Nile Trial in 2009 and came 3rd in its class driving from England to Egypt. It is on full Nsw registration and has covered some 20,000 kilometers since its restoration. A Fiva identity card dated 27th June 2008 is current for 10 years is present but applies to the vendor. One for the serious Buick enthusiast.
