1984 Audi Quattro Ur The ex-Kerry Packer Chassis no. WAUZZZ85ZEA901097Engine no. WR005265 Registration no. Vic Suc 647 expires 1/2/2010 The Audi emblem with it's four rungs indicates one of Germany's oldest, established automobile manufactures, the amalgamation of Audi, Dkw, Horch and Wanderer. The Audi Quattro with permanent all-wheel drove was shown by Audi for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1980. Transfer of the all-wheel drive principle from an off-road vehicle to a sports sedan called, above all, for dynamic refinement to be improved. This was delivered by the ingenious hollow-shaft design of the central differential, which distributed engine power between the front and back axles. The Audi Quattro Ur (original) came with a 2144cc turbo charged engine, producing 147 kw / 200 hp, five speed manual transmission and of course four wheel drive. In competition format it became one for the all time rally greats. The 1984 Audi Quattro Ur that we offer has covered just 75,000 km and has had only three owners, the first of whom was Kerry Packer, keeping it for eleven years. He purchased it in the Uk and had the engine uprated to 250 hp. It was one of just ten cars to receive this modification. Upon its arrival in Australia Packer had the car tuned and maintained by racing legend Kevin Bartlett. In good condition with dark brown leather upholstery, sunroof and tinted windows, this is an excellent opportunity to obtain an increasingly sought after modern classic.Audi Ladies Team driver Michele Mouton and rally legends Stig Blomqvist and Hannu Mikkola have autographed the driver's side sun visor of this vehicle.
