Mv 4075 2140 345Engine no. 214-0407 A famous helicopter factory, owned by the family of Count Agusta, like so many Italian companies, Mv Agusta diversified and started building motorbikes after the war in 1946. Again, like many Italian motorbike and indeed car manufacturers, competition success was seen as a way of establishing the credibility and reputation of the marque. Mv Agusta works riders contain some of the greatest names in the history of motor sport including Mike Hailwood, John Surtees, Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read.The earlier Mv Agusta bikes tend to be of smaller capacity but in 1965 the 600cc four cylinder road bike was introduced and then in the late 1960s the 750 Sport with its double overhead cam came out. This was followed in 1971 by the Mv Agusta 750 Gt of which only 50 units were produced until production of this model ceased at the end of 1974. The 750 Gt was a machine aiming for prestige and was notable for its outstanding performance (capable of a top speed of 190 kmh), comfort and above all workmanship. Sales of the bike were not large, partly due to the long build time as the engineers strove for exceptional quality and craftsmanship but also due to the increasing competition faced from the cheaper Japanese manufacturers.This exceptional Mv Agusta 750 Sport has been carefully maintained over the past thirty years by its current owner, Les Miller, who is very well known in the community for his professionalism and quality of workmanship. The bike is of exceptional provenance and we are told runs and performs exactly as it should. The bike is in marvelous original condition and would enhance any collection having covered just 2,694 miles. It has a new Mv Agusta Factory exhaust system fitted complete with headers, along with new Mv Agusta Factory indicators, lights, grips and cables.
