Diana the Huntress with a hound Carrara marble French, Alfred Boucher 140 x 80 cm Alfred Boucher was a contemporary and friend of celebrated sculptor Auguste Rodin. In his own right he was a master of naturalism and was famous for his sensual sculptures of women in the final decades of the 19th century. He was awarded the Prix du Salon in 1881, the Grand Prix at the Exposition Universelle in 1900, and was elected Chevalier and Officier of the Legion d'Honneur. In 1902 Boucher established the famous artists' residence in Montparnesse called La Ruche.His work is represented in many of the most famous museums around the world.
