An Important Meissen Chinoiserie group of a mother and her child feeding a parrot, Modelled by Reinike German, Circa 1745 She seated on an elaborate wooden chair, the child standing to one side, on a flower-strewn rococo scroll base with gilt highlights, Crossed swords mark Modelled by Reinike Circa 1745-50 as a part of a series of Chinese Groups after engravings by J.J Balechou, from Francois Bouchers 'Les Delices de L'enfance'. This group has its source in a series of engravings of oriental subjects taken from Boucher s Les Delices de l enfance (the delights of childhood). There were six of these groups modelled in porcelain by P. Reinicke, with the example of this configuration having a chicken. This figure is a variation, with a parrot substituted for the chicken.
