An Australian silver chess trophy and cover by Edward Fischer Geelong circa 1880, the ovoid body centred by an engraved vignette showing two gentlemen playing chess beneath leaf tip borders flanked by foliate cast scroll handles rising to a domed cover surmounted by a finial cast in the form of a horse's head representing the knight chess piece raised on a stepped circular foot with conforming engraved decoration engraved G.
