Very Rare Apache Pocket Pistol, Designed & Patented by Belgian Dolne Brevete in 1869. The Apache was manufactured and sold in the Usa from 1870 to 1900. This weapon resembles a revolver missing the barrel, but is in fact a very short-barrelled pepperbox. The bullet diameter is 7 mm, .27 calibre. It incorporates a fold-over knuckle duster forming the grip and also a foldout knife. Because of its lack of barrel, its effective range is limited, but it is easily concealable inside a pocket. It was popular to leave one bullet out of the gun to prevent shooting yourself whilst having it concealed in a pocket or bag. It is mentioned in many famous spy novels. There is some confusion as to why this weapon is called the Apache. Some people assert that it gained the name after a rough and tumble street gang in Paris which called itself the Apaches, and the weapon gained it's name when these tough and dangerous characters all started to carry them. Weight 388 gms. Folded length 10.5 cm, unfolded 220.5 cm. Stamped with Maker's mark on barrel, also N with a * above it
