Kauri timber Company folding chair This simple folding kauri chair was almost certainly made by the kauri timber Company in Auckland in the latter part of the 19th century or early part of the 20th century. By this time the Company was well established and supplying a large variety of pre-made and ready to assemble furniture together with building supplies, the turnings on this chair are similar to those used on a variety of other furniture items including beds, cots and towel 'Airers'.
