Christchurch Parquetry Wardrobe c.1890 From the same workshop as the previous lot (73) (refer above) these items are important examples of early New Zealand furniture. Across both pieces a full range of the four known Teutenberg handles are used. These include three horizontal handles and the vertical door handle, available from c. 1876 in brass and nickel or copper plate. The configuration of the wardrobe is based on a design popular from the 1880's but less visually heavy in this late 19th century interpretation. Height 197 cm Width 142 cm
