Inlaid tilt-top table c. 1875 This attractive inlaid table makes extensive use of puriri, maire, rewarewa and totara amongst other timbers. This table style was popularised throughout the colonial period as a means of displaying the wide variety of 'Exotic' local timbers, so were often known as 'Specimen' tables, the unusual elegant base raised on white porcelain castors adds to the appeal of this piece.
