A large 'Pine Forest' rhinoceros horn libation cup, Qing Dynasty, 17th/18th century the tapering horn carved with a large pine tree growing from rocky cliffs, the gnarled trunk in pierced relief forming the handle, with branches bearing clusters of needles extending over the sides and rim onto the interior carved with further rock formations, paulownia and other trees scattered across the mountain cliffs, a solitary scholar seated on a rocky ledge overlooking a flowing stream depicted with unusual shallow incised detached ripples, wood stand 16.5 cm.
